07.22.14Spotlight On – Ingrid Nesje

Spotlight On

It’s an exciting day because it’s time for another edition in the interview series Spotlight On. And today the spotlight is on this beauty; Ingrid Nesje from Ingstyle. Her mission is to connect women through lifestyle, fashion, beauty and wanderlust  and let me tell you, she’s doing a great job. This Sydney-sider is originally from Norway and being the nomads that we are; we had an instant connection. Are you ready to find out more about this stylish maven? Well let’s dive in shall we!

What do you feel is your purpose?

“I want to help women to live happy and healthy lives. I feel like everything has to look so amazing from the outside, but it’s okay to admit that you’re not perfect and that you make mistakes. I do them all the time and it’s important to be able to laugh at yourself and crack the glossiness that we seem to create around us. Bad hair days, lining up at the incorrect gate before a flight, saying the wrong thing – I’ve done them all and will probably do it again.

I also choose to be happy most of the time because life is good, I’m healthy and with the exception of a few first world problems, I have nothing to complain about.”

How did your blog, Ingstyle come into world?

“I previously had a beauty blog for two years which I loved, but I was craving something more, and it had to be lifestyle based because I’m such a scatter puss and have so many interests and avenues to explore. It’s now become bigger than I imagined and one of my favourite features is the Connecting With series where one amazing woman is featured once a week and it’s so great to support the sisterhood and promoting the lovely ladies out there.

The name IngStyle was a little trickier to come up with but after a lot of back and forth it made sense to combine my name with lifestyle and it just feels right.”

I think it’s an awesome name – it totally works!

What is you’re biggest boldest dream?

“To start a successful photography business. Also, being paid to travel would be really great.”

Being paid to travel, hell yeah!!

What is your morning ritual?

“At the moment, since I’m traveling so much, I don’t really have one, except to check my instagram feed. When I’m in Sydney I like to wake up to the sunrise which beams into my window, go for a walk and have a green smoothie when I return. It’s a great start to the day.”

And now some quickies

The craziest thing I’ve ever done …

“Moving to Sydney from Norway alone when I was 19. I don’t regret it but in hindsight it was pretty crazy.”

I feel at my absolute best when …

“After I’ve been for a run. The endorphins are pretty kick-ass, and I feel like chocolate tastes better afterwards!”

My go-to affirmation is …

“Today is going to be a great day!”

And to wrap things up, some words of wisdom you like to share with my tribe?

“My favourite tip is the one minute rule. Don’t postphone anything that can be done in one minute or less. It’s pretty life-changing and once you start doing this, you’ll notice a change at home and in yourself. And your email inbox will be less cluttered which is always a good thing.

Also, not all those who wander are lost. Travel, see the world and get lost. It’s a beautiful thing and I wouldn’t trade my travel memories for anything.

Thanks for having me Nikki! I’m so thrilled to be part of your tribe.”

The pleasure is all mine sweetheart, loved doing this interview with you and can’t wait to catch up again soon.

Isn’t she adorable? Head over to Ingstyle and say hi to Ingrid. I’m sure she has some lifestyle inspiration for you and you will definitely enjoy reading about her travels. You can also connect with her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. And as always, love to see your comments below!
